A Letter From Us
Welcome to Disciples Church, we’re so glad you came. Life can feel full and sometimes overwhelming with family, work, friendships, questions, and even doubts. We know walking into a new church isn’t always easy, and we don’t take it lightly that you chose to spend your Sunday with us. At Disciples Church, we believe following Jesus isn’t just for Sundays. It shapes every part of life. Our heart is simple: to help people become more like Him. That happens as we open God’s Word together, and as we build friendships that encourage and challenge us to keep growing. As you look through this magazine, you’ll see our story, our mission, and some ways to get connected. But more than just information, we hope you catch the heart of who we are, a community of imperfect people learning together, raising families, serving others, and walking out our faith side by side. If you ever need prayer, have questions, or just want to grab a cup of coffee with someone who will listen, we’re here. Thanks again for coming. We’d love to get to know you and walk this journey of faith together.
With gratitude,
Pastors Brent & Sol McQuay

Our Story
Disciples Church was planted as Christian Life Center in 1990 by Pastors Jerry and Chris McQuay with the call to be a multicultural church of supernatural power impacting children and young families of the nations through intercessory prayer, balanced bible teaching, and the full ministry of the Holy Spirit. Today the name has changed, but the foundation remains the same!
In January of 2023, the church transitioned leadership to Pastors Brent and Sol McQuay. Brent and Sol had faithfully served on staff since 2006 in various administrative and pastoral roles before the transition. In February of 2025, the church was officially renamed Disciples Church. The name was changed to align with their vision to be a church focused on being and making disciples: Be One, Make One!
We invite you to see for yourself how exciting church can be when the focus is simple, and people are encouraged to become passionate disciples of Jesus.
Pastors Jerry & Chris McQuay

Discipleship
A Disciple is someone who is:
- Devoted—Following Jesus
- Disciplined—Transformed by Jesus
- Duplicated—Joined the mission of Jesus
The Discipleship Process
Our “Be One. Make One.” discipleship process gives our church a shared direction so anyone who wants to become more like Christ can take steady, intentional steps forward, and help others do the same. People grow when there is a clear path, consistent practices, and real relationships that help them follow Jesus in everyday life.

DC Groups are small, intentional gatherings where real discipleship takes place. If you’re looking for a place to grow in your faith, build deeper relationships, and walk out your journey with others, this is where community truly comes alive. In each group, we open God’s Word together, pray for one another, and strengthen each other as we follow Christ and live out His call to Be One. Make One. These gatherings create space for honest conversations, spiritual growth, and encouragement for every season of life. Whether you’re brand new to church or have been following Jesus for years, there’s a group ready to welcome you. Join a DC Group and experience meaningful connection, Christ-centered community, and the joy of doing life together. Because we believe life is better together.
DC Teams are where members who have completed Growth Track step into serving and begin living out their discipleship in action. Each team plays a unique role in building the church, whether it’s creating meaningful Sunday experiences, supporting behind-the-scenes operations, caring for people, or helping others take their next steps with Jesus. As you serve, you build real relationships and grow in the gifts God has placed inside you. This is where your character is developed by learning how disciples serve together as one body. From Kids and Students to Worship and Production, to Greeting, Merchandise, Hospitality, and more, every team contributes to the mission of making disciples. If you’re ready to grow, to serve, and to make a difference, DC Teams is the place to step in and be part of what God is doing in our church.
Outreach
We value local outreach, believing the Gospel is meant to be lived out in the streets, neighborhoods, and everyday spaces of our communities. Our heart is to bring hope, compassion, and practical support to the broken, the lost, and the hurting. Every July, our church comes together for National Serve Day, a large-scale outreach event where we mobilize teams to bless Tinley Park and the surrounding areas through acts of service, generosity, and love. It’s one of the biggest ways we show our community that Jesus sees them and cares for them. Beyond Serve Day, we offer monthly outreach opportunities for anyone ready to make a difference, whether through meeting tangible needs, partnering with local organizations, or simply showing up for people who need encouragement. Through consistent service, intentional outreach, and discipleship in action, we strive to impact our community by demonstrating the compassion of Christ in real and meaningful ways.

Hope Center
The Hope Center exists to bring hope and long-term transformation to the community through practical skills, hands-on training, and meaningful opportunities for growth. Founded in 2017, their mission is to cultivate spiritual, social, intellectual, and economic well-being through programs in agriculture, technology, auto-mechanics, and the arts. Hope Center is skill-based training hub designed to equip the community “not just to receive fish, but to learn how to fish.” With a team of high-capacity volunteer experts, leaders in agricultural science, engineering, technology, and certified auto mechanics, the Hope Center offers programs that meet real needs and create pathways toward stability and high-paying careers. Their Agriculture program tackles food insecurity by teaching everything from seed germination to canning, while producing hundreds of pounds of organic produce each year through innovative hydroponic systems. The Hope Garage provides a renovated, fully equipped shop where residents learn auto-mechanic skills from certified professionals. The Technology program empowers creative problem-solving and entrepreneurship through 3D printing and engineering-based projects. Through these initiatives, the Hope Center is reshaping what’s possible, restoring dignity, building skills, and inspiring hope for generations to come.

Missions
Missions are at the heart of who we are. Disciples Church was founded by pastors who first served as missionaries, living out the Great Commission long before our church ever had a building. That same passion continues to shape our DNA today. We believe the gospel is meant to go beyond our walls and into the nations, bringing hope, healing, and transformation to those who need it most. Over the years, God has allowed our church to make a significant impact around the world. Through short-term mission trips taken regularly each year and long-term partnerships across more than 35 countries, we’ve been able to serve communities in meaningful, practical ways. From supporting children and orphans, to equipping pastors, providing medical care, planting churches, and helping people escape cycles of poverty and exploitation, our heart has always been to meet tangible needs while sharing the message of Jesus. By God’s grace and the generosity of our church family, we have invested millions directly into the mission field, helping take the gospel into places where it has never been heard and strengthening believers where it is hardest to follow Christ. Whether digging wells, resourcing underground churches, or simply showing up to love people well, DC remains committed to carrying the heart of our founders: to go For the One…the one God, the one lost, the one God is calling home.
Ministries
At Disciples Church, you’re invited to find your people and grow in your faith. Whether you’re a man, woman, student, or child, we offer a place where you can belong, be encouraged, and walk with Jesus. And on every 3rd Wednesday at 7pm, we come together for Family Night, a relaxed, joy-filled evening where each ministry gathers in their own space for meaningful connection and discipleship. There’s a place for you here, and we’d love for you to be part of it.
DC Men is a group where men are learning, growing, and walking together as they follow Jesus. Whether you’re new to faith or have walked with God for years, this is a place to be sharpened, encouraged, and equipped to lead with strength and integrity in every area of life.
DC Women is a group where women connect, grow, and empower one another to live out God’s calling. No matter your season of life, you’ll find a place to belong, be known, and be encouraged to step boldly into who God created you to be.
DC Students is a movement of the next generation, junior high to high school, rising up in faith, growing together, and living boldly for Jesus. It’s a space to find real friends, ask real questions, encounter God’s presence, and discover His purpose for your life.
DC Kids is committed to creating a fun and safe environment for children 1 year through 5th grade. Through creative, engaging, and age-appropriate activities, kids learn who God is, how much He loves them, and how to grow in a real relationship with Jesus.
Next Steps
At Disciples Church, we believe everyone has a next step and we’d love to walk with you as you take yours. Whether you’re new to faith, ready to grow deeper, or simply looking for connection, these pathways help you build a strong, personal, and joy-filled walk with Jesus.
